News from Carcaria, Italy: with enlarging passages bypassing landslides of “V2″ cave, a connection to Abisso Chimera had happened trough Pozzo Hosanna (P80). Now it is the systems highest entrance, making it 30m deeper. more info here
Members of italian Speleoclub Garfagnana divived in the bottom of Abisso Chimera, and reached the depth of -15m. The passage filled with water is still going on, another 25m of vertical section is visible going down.The depth of the cave changed to -1028m, with this action, and some resurveying. original here

Between January 2 and 15, a group of hungarian caves visited the Canin massif, Italy. Here you can read about the winter camp held in Piani Eterni system, in the Dolomites, Italy. The camp lasted from December 26 to January 8 , with a total number of 13 person inside (each person staying 4-5 days inside). The results are 2,5km of newly discovered passages includig a 80m deep pitch.

From december 6 to 8, 2009, there was a big expedition in Bueno Fonteno cave, two cave divers attempted to dive trough the final sump of the cave. There was 50 people from local caving clubs aiding them to transport the material to the bottom of the cave (-451m, 15km). More info at Scintilena.

From august 8 to 23, in their summer camp, italian cavers extended Complesso dell’Alto Releccio by 800m of extension, and 9m of depth, by connecting a new cave to the system, which is now -1198m,15km with 11 entrances.
