The Sixth Iranian Caving Gathering

The sixth Iranian caving gathering will be hold in Ghar Qalaichi-Bookan-West Azarbaijan-Iran.

8-11th July 2010

Ghar Qalaichi owns the deepest pit in Iran- about 100 m.

The objectives:

1- Coordination among Iranian cavers and the previous members of international expeditions

2- Revision of the caving techniques based on UIS manuals

3- Building cooperation and close friendship among all Iranian cavers to improve caving and speleology in Iran

4- Protecting caves and their environment

5- Training novices and familiarizing them with SRT techniques for safe caving

6- Visiting the deepest pit in Iran-Ghar Qalaichi- and Ghar Doukchi

    Unfortunately, A speleo event in outdoor with no major caving activity for most of the participants (more than 60 cavers), made objectives number 1,3 and 6 lost, but I believe it can be better in future. I hope our experienced friends like you, help us with some guidelines how to do it the best.
