New cave under the capital of Hungary

Harcsa-Hideg

At 6th of March, 2010 two  recently  (2008, 2009) discovered caves were connected in the karst of Buda-hills. The new system is named Harcsaszájú – Hideglyuk barlang, which is 5km long (surveyed), with 85m depth. The cave is very well decorated with flowstones, aragonites, popcorns, etc. It includes some quite big passages with 15x30m cross-section, and some fissures where you most use SRT (it is quite uncommon in this karst). Several open leads left, and exploration is still going on. Another interesting fact, that the caver pub is in the neighbor, and Pálvölgyi – cave, which is 20km long, is just at 40m distance!
