Between 28th of February, and 11th of March, a group of nine Moscow-based cavers worked in Moskovskaya cave, Gagra Range of Araica, Abkhazia. After digging the entrance out of 6m of snow, the group set camp at -600m. After bypassing a narrow fissure at the old bottom of the cave (-980m), the team discovered 400m of new passages, with a total denivelation of -155m, so the depth of the cave bypassed the magic 1000m mark, and is currently -1125m. Explorers run out of rope at the bottom, the cave is still going on… original at CML.
